End of Days

I'd avoided this one for a long time. Some people told me it was great, others said it was horseshit. Eventually I yielded and decided to give it a go.
The film is, basically, about the Devil trying to take over the world. Yawn. There is all this stuff about religion in the film as well, but the writing is so half-arsed that they might as well have not bothered. The ending would have been a surprise to me had Arnie not spoilt it for me by revealing it in an interview he did to promote the movie when it first came out (what a moron).
First off, kudos to Arnie for doing something a bit different - okay, so it's still an action film, but there are some generally surprising things that his character does. Secondly, there's a fairly recognisable supporting cast. I'm assuming this was just before Arnie's career went full flush and no one would be seen dead sharing screen time with him. Actually, it's a shame to see such talent wasted in slop like this (Kevin Pollak, Miriam Margoyles, Udo Kier, Gabriel Byrne).
Really, don't bother with this one. It's lame. The inconsistencies in the plot drove me insane. I'd say Arnie makes a better politician these days but sadly that's probably not true.
