Rise of the Cybermen

This Saturday's upcoming episode of the new Doctor Who series is 'Rise of the Cybermen'.
If you haven't guess from the title, it features the much anticipated return of the Cybermen, last seen in the 1988 Doctor Who story 'Silver Nemesis'. And they've received a very impressive costume update!
The Cybermen are one of the Doctor's greatest foes, second only to the Daleks, and have appeared in the series many times over the years. They made their debut appearance in the 1966 story 'The Tenth Planet', the last story of the First Doctor. They came from the planet Mondas, Earth's one-time twin planet. They once appeared human but hardships on their planet had driven them to replace the majority of their bodies with metal and plastic. They also removed their emotions. They subsequently returned again and again to plague the good Doctor, attempting to take over or destroy Earth a couple of times, and always looking for new recruits to turn into Cybermen (yes, like the Borg in Star Trek - however this was a good twenty-something years before Star Trek: The Next Generation, so we can see where the idea for the Borg came from! *COUGH*ripoff*COUGH*)
This new episode of Doctor Who takes place in a parallel universe and offers an alternative origin for the Cybermen, showing us their creation on an alternative version of Earth. An art-deco look was incorporated into the sets to show a vaguely-fascistic alternate England, and this idea for the design can be seen in the new look Cybermen.
Roger Lloyd-Pack guest stars in this week's episode as the wheelchair-bound genius Lumic. Lloyd-Pack should be a familiar face to some, one of his more recent roles was as the slightly deranged Barty Crouch in the last Harry Potter movie.
Doctor Who can be seen at 7:30 pm this Saturday on the ABC.
